5-Star Vermont Resort Is A Winter Wonderland Of Food, Art & Snow

The six month program, Art of a Vermont Winter at the exquisite 5 star Twin Farms Resort in Barnard may be the state’s best kept secret. Few places on earth are more beautiful when draped in snow than Vermont, and this resort offers everything the foodie art enthusiast needs to brighten up a dreary New England winter.
Beginning in November and lasting through March, visitors to the resort are surrounded by live music, unique crafting courses, winter sports and local culinary delights created by chef Nathan Rich. Rich forgoes formal menus in order to produce one-of-a-kind meals from locally sourced ingredients for the resort’s patrons. Guest chefs expected to join the staff for the 2016-2017 season include Jason Pfeifer from New York’s Maialino and Barbara Lynch from the Menton in Boston.
After an extraordinary meal, guests are invited to participate in coloring courses with artist and coloring-book author Kelsey Montague, holiday floral arranging classes or a live raptor show with the Vermont Institute of Natural Sciences (VINS). Other delightful ways to block out the cold include perusing the lovely resort library for the perfect book or indulging in a soothing aromatherapy massage at the resort spa.
Those who enjoy a more outdoorsy approach to winter will delight in hiking the gorgeous tree-lined property, cross-country skiing, sledding, and ice-skating on nearby Copper Pond. What could be more romantic?
At the end of a full day, patrons retreat to one of 10 luxury cottages complete with wood-burning fireplaces, breathtaking forest views and cozy luxury bedding. Twin Farms Resort’s other accommodations include the historic Main House – host to an array of political figures and literary greats over the years; the Lodge, a two-suite property decorated with warm amber tones and wood accents; and the Farmhouse at Copper Hill, offering four suites and the cozy library.
