Gotta love these Bruins trade rumors

This is a great time for Boston Bruins fans. Their favorite NHL team is red hot, in contention big time and now we’ve got the trade deadline coming up (February 26). So since the Bruins are obviously in the mix as far as the playoffs (and more) goes--if they keep this up--they’re also in the market to buy guys who can make them a better hockey team.
This is where it gets fun. This is the time of the year when people like to go through all of those little trade scenarios and wonder about players A B C and Z. How will this guy fit into the club? Is this the guy that the Bruins need to make things better?
I’ve seen Patrick Maroon and Ryan McDonagh linked to the Bruins already (as far as rumors go), but that shouldn’t be much of a shock. The Bruins are a good team and they want good hockey players. We’ll see a buttload of other names in the next 10 days or so though.
McDonagh is an interesting one though because the Bruins have overworked 40-year-old Zdeno Chara a little bit defensively this year and McDonagh has been giving the Rangers big minutes this season (23:55). He also has a plus 7 rating on a team who is in last place. You have to admit, that’s pretty darn impressive.
Maroon is having a solid year for the Edmonton Oilers. He is putting up 29 points (14 goals, 15 assists) in 52 games. That’s a body who could be on one of your top-3 lines (at least). That’s worth taking.
Through 55 games, the Bruins only had one less point (78) than the Tampa Bay Lightning did in 57 games (79). So yeah, it’s worth trying to get better to contend this season.
