Celebrate The Festival Of Lights At Boston's First Hanukkah Pop-Up Bar

The wildly popular Christmas pop-up bar, Miracle at the Marlowe has returned to the Kimpton Marlowe Hotel in Cambridge for a second year. Additional holiday-themed spots have also arrived at The Citizen, and Mystic Station.
With the success of the Christmas cocktail club concept, the folks at Better Sorts Social Club decided to get in on the action with the Maccabee Bar, a Hanukkah-themed pop-up opening December 4.
Just like the Marlowe, Better Sorts Social Club will transform its entire establishment with on-theme decorations and revamped food and cocktail menus.
Unlike the Christmas spots listed above, which will remain open through December 24, the Maccabee Bar will run for just five days - much like the true Festival of Lights.
From Dec. 4 to Dec. 8, “Boston’s first Hanukkah pop-up bar” will offer festive drinks like the Hebrew Hammer, a vodka-based cocktail with raspberry, “leavened” sugar, and lemon.
The Manishevitz Martinez is a sweet mix of gin, housemade vermouth, and maraschino.
Not your cup of tea? Try the Latke Sour made with apple brandy, potato, lemon, egg white, and bitters.
The food menu will include traditional Jewish favorites like fried potato latkes with a special twist. Made with curried sweet potatoes, the Maccabee's latkes also incorporate pickled crab apples and labne.
Other dishes include smoked brisket with roasted onions and mushroom, and huckleberry jam doughnuts with chestnut honey and cocoa nib.
The regular Better Sorts Social Club food and drink menus will also remain available during the pop-ups' run.
