Greenwich, Connecticut never fails to go above and beyond, especially when it comes to the holidays. So while other cities have weekend-long celebrations, Greenwich parties for four full weeks.
This is the 11th year for the Greenwich Reindeer Festival & Santa's Village.
The 2019 events kicked off on November 29 with a “We’re Back Party” at the Sam Bridge Nursery & Greenhouses, otherwise known as “the North Pole on North Street."
Since then, Santa’s Workshop has been officially open! Kids of all ages are invited to visit with real live reindeer and have their picture taken with the big man himself.
The Reindeer Festival & Santa’s Village will continue right on through to Tuesday, Dec. 24 with train and carousel rides, reindeer meet-and-greets, and a stroll through the all-new Santa's Village.
Unlike other "Santa's Village" displays, the Greenwich Reindeer Fest has the advantage of being held at a real greenhouse. The entire place is decorated with real live pine trees and wreaths, providing authentic sights and smells.
Purchase all your holiday decorations, as well as a few one-of-a-kind gifts for the special folks on your list.
The most magical aspect of the event is visiting with the majestic reindeer themselves. You may even get the chance to feed them!
Santa Photo packages start at $29.99 and include a gift bag full of coupons to local Greenwich stores.
Hours for Photos with Santa are Mondays through Fridays noon to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The reindeer will depart on Sunday, Dec. 22, but Santa will remain for photos through Christmas Eve, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
