Enjoy Roxbury's Newest Outdoor Beer Garden

Roxbury’s District 7 Tavern is the self-professed "only black tavern in town." Unfortunately, the coronavirus caused them to shut their doors in March, but now D7 is back and better than ever!
The bar launched an outdoor beer garden on Washington Street complete with string lighting, picnic tables, beer, wine, and food truck favorites from the Boston area.
The D7 Beer Garden is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 3 p.m. to dusk. and features live soul music as well as a movie series showcasing black artists and filmmakers.
District 7 was once Sonny Walker’s and C&S Tavern. Like its predecessors, the tavern seeks to "fill a void for black Bostonians and be a gathering place for the community."
The owners both have deep roots in Roxbury and Dorchester. They previously worked with the Walkers and are dedicated to their community. They hope to continue the location's historical tradition while updating the vibe for a new generation.
In addition to the beer garden, the bar itself will offer delicious cocktails, several televisions for watching local sports, a pool table and live entertainment on select evenings.
