Stroll Through A 1960’s Enchanted Village At New England’s Favorite Furniture Store
Share
Jordan’s Furniture is based in Avon, Massachusetts and has several locations throughout New England. It is quite a unique place to buy a bedroom suite – to say the least.
As a college student in South Carolina my classmates refused to believe that my home state had a massive furniture store complete with its own pizza joint, astronaut ice cream and MOM – the Motion Odyssey Movie ride!
New England kids look forward to visiting Jordan’s Furniture the way others anticipate trips to the amusement park, so it is no surprise that the store goes all out for the holidays!
From November 18 through January 1, Jordan’s displays their vintage collection of 1960s Enchanted Village window displays. The scenes once mesmerized Boston’s holiday shoppers as they passed by the windows of the now defunct Jordan Marsh department store (no relation to Jordan’s Furniture).
The furniture giant purchased the displays at auction in 2009 and had them lovingly restored to their original glory.
In addition to the Enchanted Village, for just $6.00 (including skate rental) children visiting the Avon Jordan’s can ice skate indoors at the Enchanted Ice skate park, featuring more than 4,000 square feet of artificial ice.
The entire family will enjoy LITE, the Laser Imagination Theater Experience. The one-of-a-kind holiday-themed laser light show features high-powered, solid-state lasers and Hollywood-style special effects – all set to Christmas music.
MOM is currently featuring the Polar Express 4-D Motion Odyssey experience for just $7.00 (all ages).
And from now until Christmas Eve, kids can enjoy a free visit with Santa and a blueberry muffin made from Jordan Marsh’s classic recipe.
