Enjoy Authentic Scandinavian Food & Fun At The Swedish Yuletide Fair

Holiday celebrations in Sweden begin with the start of Advent, four Sundays before Christmas. In honor of this tradition, the Swedish Women's Educational Association (SWEA) of Boston hosts an annual Swedish Yuletide Fair.

2019 marks the 33rd year for New England's largest Scandinavian event.

Here's Everything you need to know:

The fair will be held at the Boston Center for the Arts on Saturday December 7 from 10 am to 4 pm.

Tickets are $10 and free for children under 13.

Be sure to grab a few raffle tickets at the door for your chance to win prizes from Hästens, Fjällräven, Boston Balans, Polarn O. Pyret and In2Design.

Vendors will present unique gifts including home accessories, clothing, jewelry, crystal, books, and much more.

Enjoy authentic Scandinavian music and entertainment including Lucia Swedish School children, the SWEA Singers, the choral group Northbound, and accordionist Dan Mackowiak.

Perhaps the best feature of the fair? The food! Order up authentic Swedish meatballs and waffles, sandwiches, pastries and more at the Swedish cafés.

Be sure to order a mug of Glögg - the hot spiced beverage of the season - to wash it all down.

The Swedish Yuletide Fair is also kid-friendly. Little ones will love hanging out in Kid's Corner - Barnhörnan - where they can make Christmas ornaments and fish for small gifts from the ”fishpond”.

Tickets are sold at the door. Learn more here.
