This Adorable Maine Drive-In Will Transport You Back To The Fifties

Fast Eddie's Drive-In in Winthrop, Maine is a hidden vintage gem where the 1950's come alive in full color.
The decor of the small indoor space is meticulously true to theme with framed photos of Hollywood stars like Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, and James Dean.
The shelves are stocked with vintage toys and model cars of the era.
Even the booths, formica tables, and twirly chrome stools give off a distinctly fifties vibe.
If you want the full drive-in experience, you can opt to eat outside in your car where a friendly car hop decked out in bobby socks and a poodle skirt will happily take your order.
Should you visit on a particularly busy day, there are also picnic tables outside next to the vintage playground equipment including a see-saw, metal slide, and horse swings.
Menu options are pretty standard for a fifties diner, with burgers, fries, onion rings, fried clams and malts.
Guests can also enjoy traditional Maine hot dogs in red casings.
Diners at Fast Eddie's never leave hungry. The portions are extremely generous, but while the food is reminiscent of a bygone era, the prices vary. The fresh fried fish tends to be true to average market price, while the ice cream is a bargain.
Speaking of ice cream, Fast Eddie's makes their own homemade flavors including soft serve, sundaes, milkshakes and malts.
If your favorite part of the fifties are the classic cars, be sure to visit on a Wednesday night in the summer when vintage car owners swing by for Eddie's weekly Cruise Night.
